An excellent idea...

Most of it seemed like common sense to me, but from portal-surfing it's clear that there are a significant number of people who could really use the advice.
It's good to see Locks doing something for the community as a whole.

Hey everybody, grow up some, K?

OK, review. And then my thoughts on the message.
Some good stuff, some not so good stuff. I was especially impressed with Cycon, Aurora, Sqeezy and Lecca's contributions. It's always inspiring to see good fbf. Props to Gerkinman, The Flasher and the Super Flash Bros for their parts too.
The message of the Flash was one that I was waiting to be articulated for a while, and I think Gerk had a decent crack at it. It wasn't perfect or comprehensive, but I think he did shed some light on the problem at the moment.
The whole point of a community is for like-minded people to support each other. I know y'all are a diverse bunch at the best of times, but at heart you're all connected by a common desire to better your Flash skills and entertain people. You'd think that would be reason enough to work together, not against each other.
The fact that some people have deigned to overlook this message, or worse, attack Gerkinman for attempting to make it, only shows us how bad the problem is. Like I said, he's not perfect. But he obviously cares about the Flash community. I don't see you naysayers getting over 30 people to make contributions to an uber-collab.
So *my* message to you all is to grow up. Healthy competition within a closely knit community is desirable, and given some of the egos bouncing around NG, Sheezy etc., inevitable, but hate and rivalry will only benefit a handful of people in the short term, if that.
